It's second day of our stay in Boracay and everyone of us could not wait to do the activities we'd hoped we could try. My dad was excited with ATV and so I thought of having our ATV in the morning. However, Eiffer insisted on having parasailing and, being the youngest, she wins and gets most of what she wants :) Hence, finalizing our itinerary for the day, we had parasailing and helmet diving in the morning and ATV in the afternoon.
Our tour started at 9 in the morning so we had plenty of time to walk around after breakfast. At Eiffer's suggestion, we just stayed at the hotel lobby and waited for our tour guide, Ate Liza.

My dad was not into parachutes and beach so when Ate Liza came to pick us up, my dad decided to stay in the hotel. I anticipated that to happen. That's age difference, I would suppose :)
So from hotel, we took tricycle or a motorized cab to the water sports area. I forgot the name of the place. What I knew is Eiffer and I were both thrilled to have another experience that we hadn't gotten before. I just knew we're going to have another kind of adventure that we will treasure for the rest of our lives :) Gosh! I'm getting emotional! hehe Well, that could be due to the excitement I felt that day and that very astounding beauty of Boracay. The beach was just more than amazing! And now, I understand that silly craze over Boracay.
The Sand. I so love it. |
What's interesting to note is the fact that even during off-peak season, there are still thousands of tourists who visit the island in any given date and time. That may sound exaggerated but when I got to the water sports bay, there were so many people in there - both locals and foreigners. Initially, I thought it was those people selling stuffs in the beach that made Boracay crowded but nope, they were tourists, most of them.
To begin the first activity of the day, we proceeded to Diamond Water Sports booth for registration and payment. Parasailing costs 1000/pax, almost 50% cheaper than what myboracay.com website charges.
After registration, we headed to a speed boat that was waiting for us. I guess one of the advantages in having a vacation during off-peak season is an opportunity to have a trip on a private speed boat :) We were only three in the speed boat - me, Eiffer and our tour guide Ate Liza, along with the crew of course.
We were transferred to a bigger speed boat with parachutes gear. I could tell by the manner my sister smiled at me that she's getting more and more excited :) I know that feeling because I, myself, had same emotion as well.
Before the actual parasailing, the crew had us signed waivers that no matter what happened during that trip, they or the company can't be held liable. I guess that's usual to any sports activity organizers. They will have their guests sign a waiver to protect their interests as well from future litigation. Well, that doesn't matter to me. I have seen a lot of people doing parasailing and there has been no report of any unwanted incident as of date. This means, it's safe :)
The whole parasailing experience was really great. My sister and I both had that kind of feeling of being free, up and above flying as if there's no tomorrow, as if we have those wings that could bring us to any where we wanted to be. It was more than an amazing experience that I will seek again in the future, if given chances.
It was just a 15-minute parachute experience. Time could be short but it's almost equivalent to a lifetime unforgettable experience I have had.
Next activity on the list was helmet diving, my most - desired activity in Boracay. To read the blog on our helmet diving experience, pls click here :)

I don't have a chance to try this activity last year when we go to Boracay. This year, I'll make sure to add this on our Boracay packages that we will get on www.Boracago.com. It's look really fun!
